My Birthday Poem for Jeff. prepare to cry

I got to know you,
where you came from.
Your struggles in life
were out of the norm.

You went through much.
the thick, the thin.
your early friends,
some were mean.

The things you did
the good the bad,
our God was watching
every single step.

He looked at you,
loved what He saw.
He embraced the good,
cancelled the flaw.

He picked you up
and held you tight,
and promised you
you're on His side.

From that day on
you were on fire.
With the power of God
you will not tire.

You led a cell
and I was in it.
Well i must say
those years were worth-it.

Same thing is worship
the way you lead,
God uses you
in the small and BIG.

Now you're my mentor
God has given me,
I hope we'll share
our faith from within.

I thank God,
so much for you.
The lessons you teach
of what you've been through.

Indeed you're growing
both spiritually and physically,
of which you need
in the army.

Be a salt and light
let God be your song.
Share Christ with those
wearing the green uniform.

I believe in you
and all that you do,
He's there by your side
and I am there too.

You are now 21
and a shaving you will get.
No more Lion's mane

I pray for wisdom and
knowledge to abound,
